Lime concrete is composite mixture lime as binding material, sand as fine aggregate and gravel as coarse aggregate in appropriate proportions. Lime is used as a binding material in cement mortar. It is used in the form of cement putty or Hydraulic lime. The ratio of lime concrete : The only viable option is a mixture of 1:1:6 ratio – One part Sanghi Cement, one part lime and six part sand. Properties of Lime Concrete Ø It resists weathering effect. Ø It takes time to set. Ø Lime is cheaper and available easily. Ø Lime Concrete used in the bases of construction bears sufficient loads. Ø It gives good workability and desired plasticity. Ø It consumes less energy for production of lime and emits less carbon dioxide through carbonation process compared to conventional Portland cement thus it is environment friendly product . Ø It obtains less compressive strength at the initial stage of setting. Uses of Lime Concrete in Constru
